Motorcycle Dealership Raises Funds to Support MDA
ORWIGSBURG - Although he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in June 2009, 7-year-old Colin Studlack, Minersville, still has use of his legs.
At Schaeffer Harley-Davidson's 11th annual MDA Block Party and Chinese Auction on Saturday, Carol Schaeffer, who co-owns the dealership with her husband, said she's hoping fundraisers and prayers make a difference for people like Colin.
"We're dedicated to this cause, hoping to keep children like Colin out of wheelchairs," she said.
Colin and his family were among the more than 200 people who came out for the fun on the grounds of the dealership at 1123 Brick Hill Road. There was a carnival atmosphere, as musicians performed, hot dogs and burgers sizzled and the roar of motorcycle engines ticked eardrums every now and then.
